As a busy Mum of three children under five, I know how stressful mealtimes can be. We want our children to happy and healthy but often our wishes get in the way of children’s natural desire to constantly explore, be creative and simply play. So I set out to make our mealtimes - fun.
At first, this meant more creativity with menu choices and food design to encourage our children to eat a more varied diet but I soon began to experiment with how and where we eating and that’s when I realised I was missing something…
After 15 months of R&D, product testing and lots of mealtimes. I created The Fussy Food Plate!
Not So SMug now

The First Time You Smiled (Or was it just wind?)
A baby record journal for parents with a sense of humour.
Parenthood is filled with heart-warming milestone moments that you’ll want to hold onto forever. But in the years to come, the memories that make you laugh will more likely be the time your child cut their own hair or when you wrapped their butt in a tea towel on an emergency trip to the supermarket because you forgot to buy nappies (just me?).
The First Time You Smiled offers a cool, inclusive, non-pastel-hued place for you to record the things you don’t want to forget. It’s proof that you were nailing this parenting lark, even when it felt like you were dropping all the balls, telling a story that has both you and your child in the starring roles. Because whatever your story looks like, it starts right here with you – and that is spectacular.
The Mental Load:
Welcome to the list that will change your life. Well, it might not change your life but it will definitely help clear your head. I've designed this to be editable so that you can amend it to suit your situation exactly. There will be things on here that aren't relevant (vacuuming the stairs if you live in a flat, pet related tasks if you don't have pets) but I've tried to cover as many general things as possible. I haven't included things like Home Office (because not everyone will have one) or gyms, swimming pools etc. If you've got a gym or a swimming pool, you're on your own with that one.
At the end of the document I have put together a step-by-step guide to help any conversation you may want to have about the unequal distribution of the mental load and how it makes you and your partner feel (and any other conflict you may have). It's not easy and it takes work and it may feel laborious but it's really important that we lean into constructive conversations and recognise that we may have fallen into toxic habits when it comes to talking about these things.

The Behaviour Balance System
Any form of personal development starts with self-belief, enjoyment and the confidence to keep trying. As a young child, we develop the strength and stamina to walk through the process of falling down and getting back up. Over time this resilience can be lost as the fear of failure and judgement creeps in, making space for self-doubt. We believe that people are always doing the best they can with what they have and we keep this at the forefront of our minds in all that we do. This belief allows us to enable every child and adult to succeed in creating the life they want and walking through it with confidence.
